I believe this book may be one of the most important written in many years. The ideas are much larger than we normally see in business books. They aren’t tips, tools, or steps, but are in fact laws that govern individual, group and organizational behavior. The [case studies are] illustrations of organizations bringing out the best in people and in communities. These aren’t just companies making a profit, but companies doing well in the world, by any measure. Leaders would be well served to think about these laws and find ways to apply their insights.
As we move into the heart of the 21st century, it’s time for business leaders to ask what impact they want their career, and their entire organization to make. The future that’s already written about organizations is not the most ideal. We can do better, must do better. In striving for what’s possible, not just for what’s likely, this book can be a resource for generations to come.
Change doesn’t happen in a vacuum; it happens when people see and hear a future they can get excited about. Steve Zaffron and Dave Logan show how true leaders sidestep stumbling blocks to articulate visions that inspire.

When you implement solutions identified in a Six Sigma or Lean project, your ability to execute the solution is not dependent on the set of technical tools. It is [dependent on] people embracing the solution and acting on it. This book will help you understand and respect the importance of language as a powerful business improvement tool.
This book is a perfect combination of fine storytelling and rock-solid ideas. It makes accessible a powerful way of thinking which has the capacity to transform businesses and their communities. I definitely recommend you read this book.

When we realized that our company was operating in silos, we used applications from The Three Laws of Performance to have cross-functional teams create unprecedented business results.

In this thoughtful book, Steve Zaffron and Dave Logan show how leadership can be more aware of fundamental laws that govern human behavior and organizational outcomes. Those who aspire for more productive, joyful ways to lead their organizations and lives will find it an invaluable read.
The applications and processes in this book were implemented with most of the 15,000 employees within Telemar, Brazil’s largest telecommunications company. One year after we started, the company successfully entered a growing and profitable new market. In my view, without the ideas in this book, we never would have gotten there that fast.
Great performance is about people. The Three Laws of Performance gets to the heart of how leaders unlock the power of their employees, their organization, and themselves.
This book isn’t about ideas and theories; it is about the rugged hard work of writing a different future for you, your community, your company, or organization — a future that is inclusive, alive, possible, and sustainable. Showing us how to do this work couldn’t come at a more momentous time.
